On the baseball listserv, a guy posted the following:

... and he included the following comments:

It's a little bit more esoteric, but some guys at WSCR, the Chicago
sports radio station did a "Tournament of Bad" during the NCAA
Tournament. It was fully bracketed and seeded with 65 teams
consisting of things that are, ummm, bad. Winners of each matchup
were chosen by listener votes via cell and online.

"A lot of the stuff is Chicago-centric, but most of it will be recognizable.

Examples of some of the first round matchups were:

Generic Soda (7) v. Blue Collar Comedy Tour (10)
Missing Drive-Thru Items (4) v. MJ as a Wizard
Beets (2) v. Over Officious Clerks (15)
Women with Kankles (4) v. Grease 2 (13)
Airport Security (6) v. Oprah's Big Give (11)
Televangelists (8) v. PETA (9)
Bobby Knight Fans (8) v. Paula Dean (9)

And the best first-round matchup:

Mel Kiper's Hair (3) v. Anything Tyler Perry Presents (14)

"Anything Tyler Perry Presents," by the way, pulled a stunning first
round upset and went all the way to the Finals where it battled
"People who say they can't find work.""

Back to Cliffy... this is classic, IMHO. And I'm not surprised that "Anything Tyler Perry Presents" had such a Cinderella run... I mean, the obvious Gonzaga (early 2000s version) of the tourney, clearly deserving of far better than a #14 seed. Funny stuff.
