Remember when CNN had Fred Hickman & Nick Something-or-other? They weren't too bad. I think Hickman works for ESPN now, if I'm not mistaken. I guess he figured that if he couldn't beat 'em, he should join 'em.

Isnt't the market right for another all sports network? Or at least for a network to try a highlight show again? Maybe Fox could learn from their mistakes last time?

Ugh...

I saw that save. It was the North Dakota goalie against Boston College. How the hell was that *not* number one? What was number one?

Now I don't have fifty tvs in the house tuned to every sporting event all weekend long, but based on what I've gleened from over the weekend, the only highlight *possibly* more impressive was the guy at the Masters that pitched like 50 feet past the cup, then watched as the ball rolled back and took a left turn into the cup. If I didn't see it at the Masters, I'd insist it was somehow staged. Absolutely amazing.

As for SportsCenter, I'll watch (volume off) while I'm at the gym (since its on TV, and the alternative is usually Regis & Kelly) - but otherwise, don't tune in that often anymore. I'm not sure its really a conscious decision... although I admit that the sportscasters go over the top sometimes (sic) and its gotten old, and that Ultimate Highlight is incredibly annoying to me. Then add the pandering to Bonds, Kobe, Jeter, et al... and close with the inane "insights" of guys like Steve Phillips. I dunno... I find that I usually can seek out better things to do with my time... like watching grass grow. But as I said, if I'm wasting my time at the gym... I might as well additionally waste that time by watching SportsCenter.

And since you were wondering, the CD in question at the gym is "Dire Straits: Alchemy". Yes, I realize an IPod would provide far more variety... but that would require me to learn how to use one, and you know me and technology... like oil and water.
