Options for Seeing the Yankees

May 16th, 2009 by Tank

From the NY Post:

choose one of the two options to see a Mariners-Yankees game this season, and from the very best seats:

Option 1: Two tickets to Tuesday night, June 30, Mariners at Yanks, cost for just the tickets, $5,000.

Option 2: Two round-trip airline tickets to Seattle, Friday, Aug. 14, return Sunday the 16th, rental car for three days, two-night double occupancy stay in four-star hotel, two top tickets to both the Saturday and Sunday Yanks-Mariners games, two best-restaurant-in-town dinners for two. Total cost, $2,800. Plus-frequent flyer miles.

Silly rabbit, trips are for kids… er, for unsupportive fans. *True* Yankee fans will gladly take out second and third mortgages (after all, look how low the rates are now!) for the privilege of sitting in those seats, and by extension then continuing to find the $200 million payroll in the midst of arguably the worst recession since the Great Depression.

C’mon, now… this is week one stuff!!!

If I were Hank Steinbrenner and I read your comments, I would immediately move to revoke your membership in Yankee Universe (the pathetic knock-off of the cheesy marketing gimmick that is Red Sox Nation)! That’s it… no soup for you!!!

Does that mean he’ll stop taking chunks of my cable bill and tax dollars?

Heh-heh… you’re so adorable. This is the big leagues, little cherub. It ain’t no free ride. No, no… if/when your membership to Yankees Universe is revoked, the Yankees get to keep all past, present, and future monies related to their regal existence in your peasant life.
