Seen While Driving In New England

A bumper sticker that read:
“Jeter Drinks Wine Coolers”
I have to admit, that’s pretty good.

That is good… and a lot more “family-friendly” than most of the Jeter bumper stickers/T-shirts you’ll find in New England.
But my personal all-time favorite sports-related bumper sticker is from the early 70s in the Boston area, when Phil Esposito was the NHL’s reigning scoring machine as the Bruins were… ya know, actually winning Stanley Cups:
“Jesus Saves, Espo scores on the rebound.”
Just classic.
P.S. On a mildly related note, I saw Espo giving a talk a few years back… and he made it abundantly clear, that 30 years after Harry Sinden had traded him to the Rangers… he *still* didn’t forgive him - and never would. This was not a guy saying what the crowd wanted to hear (especially since much of the crowd was too young to remember Espo as a Bruin, which made me wonder why he was even asked to speak… but I digress). Anyhow, it had nothing to do with anything related to the people gathered… except he was clearly a guy who wanted everyone to know that he’s *still* pissed that he got traded from the Bruins - and he’s specifically pissed at Sinden, who was the GM that made the deal.
I just found that so very interesting. Thirty years later, and he was not only beloved in NY (IIRC) after the trade and he played well there too, but… he’s still angry about it. I suppose it’s a bit pathetic, but I found it fascinating.
