Speaking of Dunbar’s, when are we due to get back there again? It’s been a while. There must be some weekend that a few of us can make our way back there for some frivolity, Hot Truck, and beer.

Speaking of Bristol, why the heck are they running the first ever Car of Tomorrow race there? I would think they would actually want some of their COT equipment to survive the afternoon. Given Bristol’s propensity to wreck equipment, combined with the fact that none of the drivers will have any real race experience in the cars, I would say it’s going to get a bit ugly out there, no?

Aren’t beers cheaper and tickets less expensive at a county fair than at a NASCAR race? I mean isn’t that about the similar entertainment value? While I admit I am intrigued by free curly fries, I couldn’t imagine using real money to attend an event let alone watch it on Free TV.

Though I still insist that former Nextel Cup champs have no business driving in the Busch series. And have you noticed that with Harvick’s flat tire on the final restart, Mark Martin has moved into first place in this young season?

I propose that next year we time Mecca to coincide with the Chicago race. Or move the whole shindig to Vegas the week of the race there. I’m also up for attending the Bristol race if anyone would like to go, if we can get tickets, which are among the most difficult tickets to secure of any sporting event. I’m not making that up.

Easy, crazy. I’m all for trying new things (once in a blue moon) - but I think you’re getting ahead of yourself here. Mecca will already involve several sports: drinking, baseball, drinking, gambling, golf and… drinking. No need to muddy the waters with the introduction of yet another sport. Oh, and I almost forgot to include…

“Excuse me, are you guys playing cards?”

We need no further athletic stimulation that weekend, I assure you.
