Moss under 5.5 receptions - check. Jacobs under 15.5 carries - check. Welker over 7.5 receptions - check.

Pats -12... um... not so much.

As noted, I've got NE 0 / Giants 7 on the squares. If that's the final, that's $1800 on a $60 investment (two $30 squares). So... the Giants get the ball with almost three minutes left and I ask the football gods to smile on me in either of the two following ways: (1) just have the Pats defense make a stop (ya know, like All-Pro Samuel intercepting a ball thrown right to him) so the Pats win the game, or (2) if the Giants are gonna score, make it a quick TD, so Brady has enough time to drive down into range for the game-tying FG... and then the OT drive for the game-winning FG. Final score: Pats 20, Giants 17. Cliffy: Happy.

Um... yeah, so the football gods weren't smiling on me. Balls.

"Sucked as a Dolphin"... interesting, how many guys played great for the Dolphins the past couple of years? Jason Taylor, Ronnie Brown (for half of 2007, he sucked in 2006) and... um... yeah, that's about it. When Welker played the Pats, which was twice a year, he *always* stuck out to me as an obvious weapon. I have no idea what games you saw him play with Miami, but against the Pats, he was a far bigger weapon than your boy Chris Chambers... just for starters.

And of course, he's not playing for the Dolphins this year, in this game. This year, 112 receptions, 1175 yards, 8 TDs. Um... that's good. Oh, and he's got some guy named Tom Brady throwing to him, and some other cat named Randy Moss pulling two DBs (at least) to the outside with him.

Easiset five Pounders I'll ever make.

I'll Pounder Gonzo on Jacobs carries (I've got under 15.5), and Moss receptions (I've got under 5.5). I think the respective defenses will stop them, and if anything, I see Bradshaw getting carries (although as noted previously, his touches may be more with swing/dump-off passes) and Welker getting the receptions (along with Watson, Stallworth, Gafney, and Faulk... and who knows, maybe even a few receptions for Maroney).

As for Superbowl square pool, I have two squares: NE 0 / Giants 7; and NE 4 / Giants 8. On its face, the 0/7 looks like a nice combo - problem is, I don't see the Pats kicking any FGs which would get them to 10, 20, or 30... and I don't see 'em getting to 70. If I had NE 7 / Giatns 0, I'd be *far* happier. Now the NE 4 is nice, 14 pts a distinct possibility at the first quarter or even at the half... but Giants 8 to coincide? Good luck with that.

I'll take the over on Jacobs, over on Moss, and over on Welker (this will be the easiest one, he'll have 8 catches by halftime). 35-24 Pats (and only that close b/c Giants score meaningless TD with < 2 minutes left).

As for the Superbowl square pool, I have 8 (Giants), and 3 (Pats) - could have been worse, I suppose, but sure as hell could have been a LOT better...

So then I trust we can put two (or more) Pounders on the "Welker catches" prop? Cuz, yeah... I'll gladly take the over 7.5 on that.

Just curious... what do y'all have as the final score? I've got 40-17... um, Pats.

Gonzo, Tank and Danny on Giants +12... done, done, and... done.

As for Danny's props, I'll take Jacobs under 15.5 carries and... well, that's it - cuz I agree with you on the rest: I think the Giants will gameplan to try to take Moss out (which will leave SB MVP Wes Welker to have a field day, among others - including Ben Watson, Donte Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney, Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk... in no particular order. I think the Pats will limit Plax's effectiveness far better than the pathetic Packers did - but its clear Eli will force the ball to him, cuz they need Plax to have a big day (among other needs) to have a chance at victory. I think the Pats will also control the Giants running game (thus the under on Jacobs), in part cuz they'll get an early lead that will keep the Giants from running too much. It's possible Bradshaw gets over 10.5 - but I see them utilizing him more in the Kevin Faulk mold, hit him on the run out of the backfield and/or the drop-off pass underneath, then see how many defenders he can make miss. I think Bradshaw will definitely get more than 10.5 *touches* (indeed, I submit that's another necessity for victory) - but not more than 10.5 carries. And Brady's gonna have a field day, moreso than Eli.

Giants - points

lucky for you Cliffy, you don't need to be creative to come up with SB Prob bets, because you can bet on anything.

I'll take the over on Jacobs 15.5 carries
under on Moss 5.5 receptions
over on Burress 4.5 receptions
under on Bradshaw 10.5 carries
Brady to have 5.5 more completions than Eli

Basically, these bets are for those that could care less about the actual game, which was deemed meaningless 2 weeks ago
