So, I am watching Villanova/Georgetown. 4 point game. 5 minutes to go… and then all of a sudden there is a “score alert” Rutgers is beating Tennessee by 1 with 3 minutes left. Interesting… do I change the channel… I am torn.. then I saw the fine print that said that Tennessee = the Lady Vols… so I decided to stick it out with the G-Town game.. Is that sexist?

They’re just two very different sports. I like the women’s game, which is more like the men’s game of fifty years ago in terms of style of play. But the flip side is that by definition, the women lack the size and strength of the men. The Lady Vols and the Huskies are the dominant women’s teams of the past decade, and both would get smoked not only by the lowliest men’s college team (Cornell, I’m looking in your direction), but by many high school squads. One game is more dominated by basic skills, the other by athleticism.

Hey now, don’t knock Cornell hoops; they will most likely win the Ivy Championship this year.
Of course, they will be a 16 seed and get trounced by a 1, but still….
